We are Homo Oeconomicus. Driven by reward. Environment is seventh to tenth in our list of concerns. Once Homo Oeconomicus discovers someone else is trying to take hi lunch, he reacts and defend himself. Environmentalism is just competition for markets by another name. Remember it is all about psychology of the masses. Bring some pseudo-science and gain a share of the mind of the masses and their brains do the rest. The pithecanthropus erectus primitive brain takes over. Luckily there is the Homo Sapiens Sapiens the species that Elmat belongs to ensure civilization will survive and do not go back to a new Dark Age of fear.
