>>lovely japanese food (tappanyaki) last night for two, a bottle of hot sake and an ice cold kirin beer<<

Sounds quite tasty. ;>) Have recently noticed a Benihana Japanese restaurant downtown. Must try it some time for teppanyaki.

>>Investment Landfill, Part II<<

Whatever, I'm just hope Bernanke and pals can keep the financial wheels greased for another few weeks. Am awaiting low 6-figure buyout payment on an illiquid family investment held for over 40 years. Need the financing to be there for this 100-bagger.

FIASCO is a must read. There are literally dozens more schemes like the one you cited which are described in the book.

If the book is even 25% accurate, there will be huge trouble for the ibanks in the future as there is no way that their sophisticated frauds can be perpetrated ad infinitum. The author, an ex-ibanker, knows what he is talking about.

I highly recommend it. Very readable. It is addictive; you'll finish it in a night.
