Gates If you want to sum our CIA intel problem, you couldn't use a better example than Gates. He spent 30 years there. He doesn't speak, read or write a word of Russian. But he was our top Russian analyst during the 80's. Responsible for completely missing the collapse of the Soviet Empire. And what is his reward for this? Total triumph in DC.

The lack of progress in managing the problem during his tenure makes him a failure. And he is a buddy of Carter's NSA guy Brezezinski who was a loser in my view.

Gates was always a professional Bureaucrat, still is... he proved his incompetence when he was at Langley just goes to show how incompetent GWB is... in choosing a flake like Gates.... There is no one running in either party equal to the task of establishing America as the Premier Player in the Global Chessboard today..... I think USA has outlived our political process.... We need a multi cultured,male/female, heavy handed, law and order, Global thinking...USA on Top mindset group of maybe 7 or 9 top thinkers/players to set a direction for America in this new Global environment annnnnd to straighten out our Domestic policys and present educational system (that is presently producing dolts and nothing more).... regards
