He should do what he originally promised to do back in 2003. Cut spending and fix all of the inefficiencies in California state government.

He tried in 2005 with a set of four initiatives that were all voted down. That prompted his move to the left. Higher than expected revenues (my opinion is that this is directly due to the real estate boom) allowed him to lighten up on his budget cutting stance, but those days are coming to an end.
