There are very few "back roads" leading out of Evanston WY, so I don't think he'd opt for that kind of choice. He grew up in CO and would drive the mountains to ski, so he's familiar with icy road conditions. I'd guess he'll make a wise decision when the time comes. The long range forecast makes it look like roads will be safe, anyway.
