A century is a long time in investment terms. One can have great great grandparents who are that old without trying.

20 years would be 40 inches. That's not much.

People don't worry much about things which are 20 years hence.

There are cliff-top properties around NZ which are valuable despite the fact that they will be cliff-bottom properties well-within many lifetimes and I suspect within a decade or two.

Heck, we bought one of them! It had already had a landslide and I thought that with a bit of my civil engineering thinking I could stabilize the situation and enjoy economical accommodation with nice views over water. It was successful and is still happily sitting there.

All I did was move water from going into the dirt to going down pipes. It was great living there. My most idyllic time really.
