The two party system has more than run it's course in this country.

Absolute power, corrupts absolutely. We have two corrupt parties doing battle for power with each other, rather than working together for what is best for the country.

Good Points.

Both Parties are afflicted with varing levels of corruption. It is a shame but few would disagree that this is not the case.

Voter turnout varies from year to year depending on many underlying issues associated with the given election.

Many become disillusioned and simply turn away from the process. Maybe we should direct our attention toward that.

Maybe mandatory voter registration and voter turnout would allow a more viable accountability in the electoral process. Taxes are mandatory as well serving the community via Jury selection process. Why not make voting mandatory as well? Force the individual to choose and become active participates in the process and hold accountable our elected officials.

Our Economy is tied in directly with our elected officials. How we choose to be financially responsible begins at home. How we choose to enact legislation that directly effects our tax structure as well our economic landscape begins and ends with our elected officials. To that end we owe it to ourselves to get out and exercise our constitutional right to Vote.
