Washington, Madison, Jefferson, Franklin and many others are quoted as saying that they totally distrust organized religion, do not take the Bible literally, distrust the Church and even do not hold Jesus Christ sacred. I can give you all the quotes if you like. Lincoln said such things too. So those like Romney who totally lie about this to try and pander to deluded religious rightwing nut-jobs are doing us a great disservice. In fact the Constitution was written specifically to make sure that neither imperial monarchists like Bush or orpthodox clergymen like Haggard, Robertson and Falwell can ever get control of our government. Barry Goldwater also despised the religious right. And privately, Reagan and Bush Sr were also secularists, as are GW Bush and Cheney and ROmney and Guiliani. They all just pander for the voting block of deluded poor white trash who believe that their televangelists tell them. Also, Jesus christ if he came back, would be a far leftwing liberal. Far left, off the charts left. Absolutely communist in its original idealistic form of everyone sharing everything. That is absolutely christ's position. christ would hate greedy selfish capitalists.
