My system instincts are stronger than my libertarian instincts. I would never put ideology above what works. I'm much too pragmatic. The reason I foster my inner libertarian, though, is that I discovered over time how inherently compatible it is with what actually works.

Everybody wants health insurance and its benefits.

Employers providing those benefits, which I'm sure seemed like a good idea at the time, are a huge part of the problem. Sure, people may want health insurance, but that's not the same as wanting employer-packaged, tax-advantaged health insurance, not if they're thoughtful and capable of differentiating.
