This fact rings resoundingly true when you speak with someone working in securities risk analysis, which is something I get to do every now and then when sizing up business continuation scenarios. Last year's seminars, based on a legacy of banking and securities trading that extends over decades of treading water, aren't cutting it anymore. I surmise that this may be largely due to the wiliness and intractability of the new players, as was implied in several parts of the reference transcript, in addition to other, more-obvious drivers that center on instincts and tendencies that are more basic to the species in the way of regulated securities trading, which, while regulated, present their own ups and downs, although introducing lower levels of risk.
