If I am right we have something better to look forward to; if not, then it's more of the same and nothing changes except who gets the 51% in a given poll. They won't build any lasting majorities. Actually, perhaps not. I read somewhere, probably in some of the same stuff you read, that what he need now is an FDR. Much hated by the Republicans of his time, he was able to alter the political framework in which deals were struck. Hopefully, we don't need a depression to do that. But it will take serious political skills, perhaps on the FDR level, to get us out of this political cul de sac.
