i have been buying lately as i am sure you have surmised

There once was a tech company that blew a product cycle but
had a significant user base, great brand, and strong customer
loyalty. Unlike AMD it had great technology in the pipeline and
its main competitor was not overwhelmingly dominant. I too
thought its share price was unfairly beaten down and was a
very good investment opportunity so I bought in.

That company was 3dfx. Good luck with AMD. ;-)
