Also in Q1 comes Phenom-FX (2.4GHz?), and 2.5GHz Barco in April/May.

Oh my, how can Intel possibly counter those powerhouses next year?

Is AMD really calling any of the Phenoms the "FX"?

As I understood it, they hoped for the 2.4GHz 9700 early in Q1, but this may be one of the defective B2 parts.

Then comes the on-fire 140W TDP 2.6GHz part in March, they hope, the Phenom 9900.

As you note, Hector Jr. says they hope to have a 2.5GHz Barco in May.

Supposedly they will also be offering defective "Black edition" 2.3GHz Phenom 9600s later this week. I can't imagine who would pay for these B2 parts, however.

w, thanks.

re >> but they are doing a full requal to make sure there are no other defects

This is funny. I wonder if they knowingly did partial, non-full, validations before ? And that's how defective parts escaped ? Or did they do what they thought were full validations, but their validation criteria are not as full as they think they are ?

This is reminicient of Dirk saying they had a minor problem in K10 in that the design was not tuned to the process, and they will get on it right away. (after the 15th re-spin, or thereabouts).
