Edwards stands up for the middleclass and poor. But he's a self-made multi-millionaire so he also understands the importance of allowing for merited opportunity. Remember, he was born with very little. He worked his way up, and made his money taking on powerful corporate special interests. That is exactly what we need now, someone unafraid to take on the overly powerful corporate special interests which have totally corrupted our government, mostly on the GOP side, but also to some degree on the Dem side. Anyone who denies this is part of the problem.
