People like that just make me sick. I wonder if AS has more posts that don't contain lies than posts that contain lies. I would hard to guess that the majority of AS's posts are at least partially fabrications and lies.

Yes, originally communism was a good idea. The ideal version of it which meant to share equally in a truly Christian way and help each other survive. It helped get the majority of Americans out of the Great Depression. Johnny Cash admitted that his family might have starved without the communal socialist New Deal help from FDR's government which created his Arkansas cotton farming communal town where everyone got twenty acres and a mule and shared everything. So FDR and Christ were both the original communists.

Soon after, Communism was hijacked by the Soviets and turned into something like fasicsm, a military-police state where people had no rights. Just the opposite of the original theory of communism. Then radical rightwing A-holes like McCarthy (and Hitler before him) demonized the very concept of communism.

Who knows what communism was in the 40's but by the 50's and 60's it had morphed into dictatorships which were not communism at all. The Soviet elite didn't share with their people, they ruled them like tyrants, like rightwing fascists.

The workingclass ended up slaves of the state, and political prisoners if they complained. No democracy at all. Only the party elite prospered. That was when communism really did turn into something evil. But originally in the 1930's it was a necessary and good idea and was ALL about democracy and freedom. It saved the USA and created our middleclass.

Read The Grapes Of Wrath and learn something. Steinbeck was also a communist in the good sense. Against tyranny and for average people. Think about it. What the hell was wrong with that? Did you know that in 1900 the rich in this country didn't even pay taxes and ruled everything? By 1935 their dishonest greed created the Great Depression. And they didn;t give a damn about the 90% who were starving. That's right, starving in the USA.

That's what many on the right really want to go back to. Government for the elite by the elite and screw everyone else. That's what Bush-Cheney types want. Which is why they invented the phony issues of God, Guns, Gays and abortion to try and divide us, just the way Hitler did. Divide and conquer. But we progressives are just as spiritual as rightwingers,m if not more so. And some of us are very cool with guns. Some of us don't even like gays that much. And abortion is always a painful decision, but sometimes necessary. Barry Godlwater even boughtt his daughter one. The Bush family was always pro-choice until he ran with reagan. Get real, wake up.
