I am usually right, but I made a bad mistake in 2000. That is I believed GW Bush was like his father, a reasonable country club Republican. I was wrong. He turned out to be an extremist, totally corrupted and an unrepentent major crook.

I'm sure in his private moments GHW Bush is deeply ashamed of his son and his former Defence Secretary. But he shouldn't be surprised. He's the one who turned GW onto Saudi oil money and wars for profit.

The lesson from all of this goes back to our Founding Fathers warning us against the risk of tyranny. The USA is not immune from tyranny whether it be Joseph McCarthy or Bush-Cheney. If we make a terrible mistake and trust the far fascist corporate rightwing too much, they will abuse their power and try to end the USA as we know it.
