French SB easy. We can learn for free in school so why not put kids in.. They have advantage becuse my oral French is good, written not so.. Not a cultural thing for me really, mostly extra language cannot hurt and good stepping stone to Spanish (I think a good asset) and even Portuguese now :o) ... My youngest sister became fluent in Spanish in her late 20, when she moved to California. She figures less than one year. Her French was very fluent as she had immersion school like my kids, better than my barroom French :o) When I was working in the family business as a student we had many Portuguese immigrants.. Not well educated and mostly assembly line jobs.. but they picked up French in a heartbeat.. Put many local Anglophones to shame..
