West Texas Intermediate (WTI) monthly crude oil prices averaged more than $85 per barrel in October and almost $95 per barrel in November, up $27 and $36 per barrel, respectively, from a year earlier.

It wasn't that long ago the oil was selling for $30 a barrel.


It was only last August that it was in the high $60s:
