"One of your quotes was accurate."

Nonsense. We weren't winning. Not even close.

We weren't losing either.

But, there was no way to victory. We sat in our firebases and sent out patrols. Often they would come back with less people than went out.

So, with no way to win, we did the only thing we could do.

The protests had no influence on that.

The Vietnam War was lost by 1967 but Nixon didn't tell the American people, he just kept it going for five more years. That's all in the Pentagon Papers, but I guess you guys only read propaganda, not factual materials. Also exposed there was that the entire war was escalated based on a big fat lie. They really had no idea if anyone had fired on our Navy boat on the Gulf Of Tonkin.

One of the main reasons wee lost Vietnam BTW was the absolute corruption not only of the South Vietnamese but of many of our own military honchos and contractors. Similar to Iraq which is now listed as the most corrupt place on earth. Half the money we give the Iraqis is stolen outright. And our Halliburton types steal almost as much. SHia Basra is now built on stolen oil. And the only way he got tribal leaders to go after AL Qaida was huge bribes. It's all a total mess.
