Not sure about that, his response maybe;

I'll match your 500 billion and raise 500 billion more, they don't call me Helicopter Ben for nothing!!

On a serious note though, I think it gives an indication of how seriously the ECB takes the liquidity problems and signals their willingness to do whatever it takes. It is going to make it much easier on the FED and the politicians to do the same or follow a similar path.

I have always thought that when push comes to shove the politicos will always revert to printing/inflation, until it fails to work, which I hope is a long way off.

Europe are parlamentary democracies. Those governments can easily be removed and replaced. Therefore they need to keep the economies humming along or they will face the ax.
