I thought the same thing. I think it was the writer misinterpreting Munster's quote. Munster was quoted as saying;

"While it is too early to make a definitive call on December quarter iPod results, we have analyzed the first two months of NPD data (October and November) for the quarter and found that it suggests iPod units of 24m-25m"

I believe there is a parenthetical "in the December quarter" that got omitted from the end of the sentence.

It seems pretty black and white the way that this article is written that Munster believes that Apple sold 24-25 million iPods in the first 2 months of the quarter. However, I'm not sure if this is what was intended. If you read the article closely, I think it was trying to state that the first 2 months shows that Apple WILL sell 24-25 million iPods in the quarter as oppose to his original estimate of 23.5 million.

Nice catch. The article is definitely misleading as to the timeframe.
