DJ Online Holiday Spending Up 19% For Nov 1 to Dec 16

Comscore Inc. (SCOR) said consumers spent more than $23 billion online during the period of Nov. 1 to Dec. 16, a 19% increase over last year.

The Reston, Va., consumer-behavior tracking company said spending jumped 22% to $4.7 billion the week ended Dec. 16, likely making it the heaviest online spending week of the season.

Comscore said the upcoming week, the last before Christmas, is crucial for the overall success of the holiday season.
