I'm not sure if I said I agree that we have to fight deflation, and if I did, I wrote my thesis poorly (I'm often juggling 10 things at once). I'm just saying that the Fed WILL fight deflation. It's in their training. However, if the Japanese example is proof, I don't think it's possible to beat deflation. The money will just travel somewhere else - in the case of the Japanese - into hedge funds and other "alternative" investments rather than where it's needed the most...Japan.
