>>Microsoft says it is investigating reports that a security update for the Internet Explorer browser issued last week has crippled some users' ability to get on the Web.<<

I can attest to that. I've had nothing but problems accessing IE since the Windows update. Most times, I get an error message when trying to launch IE, and even if I'm able to launch IE, it eventually shuts down. This has been happening (all day) everyday since the update. I'm pretty much computer illiterate and have no idea how to uninstall this thing. Very frustrating.

I know it's not recommended by most geeksters but I refuse to use Windows auto update. Way too many problems in the past with their stupid update system. They bug up their updates almost as bad as some of their software.

I rarely use any of their suggested updates. The old if it ain't broke don't break it approach. Some of the security updates are worth a look but most aren't worth bothering with, IMO.
