Wrong, Communism only BECAME a police state ideology after the Soviets and others turned it into that. The birth of communism was the American New Deal which was peaceful and included 100% democracy and civil rights. It was the common wealth being shared to save the lives of tens of millions of STARVING Americans after the industrial elite rightwing of this country stole all the money and caused the Great Depression. Also, the birth of the unions and organizing for workers rights. FDR was from a rich family but he saw the people needed help and like Teddy Roosevelt he saw the trusts, industrial monopolies and tycoons needed to be taxed, regulated and forced to share with the people. As a result they were able to give tens of millions of needy people just enough to make it through with, twenty acres and a mule plus basic provisions, and they did that creating the greatr American middleclass which continues strong until Reagan's people started moving to quash them. The real evil of the Bush-Cheney regime has been they they actively want to screw the middleclass and give it all back to the very rich like before The Great Depression. That is why you are being screwed by the Bushies. They don't want us to have any kind of safety net or public support. If it were up to them we'd all have nothing and they'd have everything. BTW, did you know that in the 1920's a group of very rich gentlemen hired a mercenary army like Blackwater and were plannin.g to overthrow the US government and install a rightwing regime? I can't remember the names, but it was stopped before it happened. Those crooks were like the Bushies, and also the 2nd Amendment was put in to stop crooks like that, to stop the rightwing, monarchists and orthodox christians who might try and take over our government. Those were the three threats. Ironic that now the rightwing trumpets the 2nd Amendment.
