You point out that Americans won't vote for Socialists when they are called Socialists. I was simply pointing out that they continually demand Socialist policies even though they won't characterize those policies in any national pol as being Socialist.

It's akin to the way the majority of the people in this country start out saying they are in favor of free markets and then they add the qualifier, "as long as they are "fair" markets".

Most people in this country would respond that corporations are a bigger threat to their personal freedom than Socialist policies ....the ones enacted by their elected officials who aren't suppose to be Socialist. Socialism (but let's not call it that) is still seen by most as morally superior to Capitalism even when all evidence is to the contrary.

Americans won't vote for Socialists.... except they always do!
