Only thing you are missing is you are forgetting that these PETA folks are fanatical idiots. Trying to understand them is beyond you because your mind and theirs operate on very different planes. If they are offered a choice between a dog being harmed or someones little grand baby dying the kid loses every time. They are whack jobs.

It is this very type of moronic stupidity that renders PETA and groups like them irrelevant by most common sense standards. At some point special interest groups and our political parties will realize that thoughtful discourse (that doesn't mean we wont disagree) is the only way we can move forward and unite as a country. Until that happens we will remain in both a financial and moral death spiral as a culture and a country. On a slightly different note I'd like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!
