As stupid as it was for the states to buy subprime, what does it say about Lehman et al who sold it to them? After all, Lehman is a respected firm on Wall Street. Lehman et al are whores to money and seem to care little about their reputations. Unfortunately it seems that way. Bottom line is everything. If your government is the guy that gets screwed in the end, so be it. It they are willing to screw the regulators like that, imagine how they feel about the little guy?
