One of the most famous things ever said about Steve Jobs, (Apple founder), was that he produced a "Reality Distortion Field" around him.

People who were in his presence, had their perceptions shifted... until they saw things the way that Jobs wanted them to see things --- regardless of any fundamental realities which might differ with those perceptions.

(So I guess, depending on 'how the switch is thrown', to plus or minus, that the Reality Distortion Field actually make you see and believe what is unreal... or the opposite, it can prevent you from seeing and believing what is real....)
