Whose word should people take? A person who grew up attending a Baptist church two or three times a week or you?

Baptists and Mormons - Heard an interesting thing on the way to work Friday. Ernest Istook was filling in for Bill Bennett on his morning radio show. Istook is a former GOP Congressman from OK. In the course of the show he mentioned he'd grown up Baptist, gone to Baylor, and in adulthood had converted to the LDS church. I thought that really illustrates the falsity of Unamerican Sprite's claim about Baptists and Mormons - OK being one of the heaviest Baptist states in the Union (31% of the population - and thats only counting the Southern Baptist Convention), how could someone with such a background ever attain office there if Sprite were right?

Another thing it shows is that Romney's religion may not really be such a problem for evangelicals at all.
