I would want to stop subsidizing the rest of the world.

"There, you are starting to get it. Now how do you propose that we do that?"

I got it a long time ago.

We might start by reducing the regulation that companies operate under. Probably the largest internal money saver would be to limit outrageous tort awards.

We could use punitive tariffs on countries that fail to negotiate in good faith with American Pharmaceutical Companies.

Maybe China as an emerging economic super power will want to take over funding all of the medical research for the world. Of course, they would then be the beneficiaries of the economic benefits. But the advocates of Socialized Medicine only see the costs and seem unable to comprehend that there are economic benefits that accrue to each of us from the sales of American technology licenses and or the royalties.
