I can relate. We got a second Shepherd, but he just wasn't the same. I trained him, nearly as well as "Mister", but the personality was totally different. We had to put him down in only 5 or 6 years as he developed cancer. That's the last dog we ever had and I don't plan to have another.

I have noticed that most people seem to have one special dog that really connected with them. Many people buy different breeds until they find such a dog and then get disappointed as they keep trying to get another just like the one.
