i thought powell, cheney and rummy were great when appointed. I remember liberal friends of mine right after 9/11 saying TG Bush, not Gore is president. We are far removed from 9/11 these days and the Bush team performed badly in iraq but this shouldnt lead us to elect a rank amateur like Obama or a snake oil salesman like edwards. I have deliberately left Hillary out because i think she will appoint the best and the brightest. As for republicans, McCain is the only grown up in the race and i know alot of you guys think he is a neocon but he is not--Hawks are not automatically neocons and McCain will be vigilant as president.

" I would have actually voted for Bush in 2000"

I didn't go that far, but the (R)'s did a fantastic job of hiding who Bush really WAS from the voters. I wasn't very alarmed when he won in 2000. By 2004, I was doing everything I could possibly do to get him defeated, even though I didn't think much of Kerry.
