Selfish and evil, IMO.

They think of them as nothing more than trash they can toss aside when they're done with them. Like they would an empty soda can.

My middle boy's dog Missy is a flat coated retreiver that was dumped during tropical storm Allison. We don't know for sure but we believe it was because she has a little white on her chest and one of her toes. She's not solid black and therefore wouldn't get the money they were probably asking for the rest of the litter.

She picked my son. She was nothing more then a black mound of quivering skin and bones. When he walked by her cage, she looked at no one but him. She sat there very patiently watching him move from cage to cage and when he would stop back at hers, she would lower her head, lift her paw and wiggle all over until she fell over. She was such a pitiful sight. She picked him and he couldn't be more proud of her. She is as obediant as my Mikey. You can leave any door in the house open to the outside and Missy will just stand there waiting until you tell her she can come out. There can be a squirrel, cat or other dog and she won't budge until you tell her to.

I think rescue pets know they have been given a second chance in life.
