Of course they'll increase....its called global growth. Kyoto wasn't put in place to eliminate emissions....its there to help reduce the acceleration rates of emissions. If Kyoto wasn't in place what would the worldwide increase have been?


Of course it's global growth, esp. in China and India, which are not even covered by Kyoto.

Judging from the figures, I should say that if Kyoto wasn't in place, worldwide increase of emissions would have been entirely unaffected. Go look at the table - the signers are doing worse than US!

The rise in the cost of oil has been far more efficacious than Kyoto in terms of actually achieving anything. Market forces usually are.
