The freedom for non-wealthy folks to have their kids educated isn't a 'freedom' to you.

"Freedom for non-wealthy folks to have their kids educated" means no coercion is used against them to prevent the education.

You might argue for paying for their education in order to give them adequate ability to get their children educated, but ability and freedom are different things. I have the freedom to set a new world's record in the 100 meter dash, ability? Not exactly.

The ability issues isn't a big argument for public schools, even assuming no ability without government funding, because you can have government funding without government owned/run schools.
