I've been trading this one lately with mild success, but right before that news hit, I got stopped out of it for a small loss. When I got the email notification that I'd stopped out, I checked to see if it was going to present a better buying opportunity, and instead it was climbing. Bought some Jan 5 calls before the stock really sprouted legs, but upon reading the news I really don't see that this is such a big deal.

This last paragraph from the Reuters announcement gives me pause:

In November, Fremont named a new management team led by five former executives of Commercial Capital Bancorp Inc, once a large thrift in California.

"former" executives? "once" a large thrift?

Is this reference to the folks mentioned in the latest PR, or was this a team that was hired in November and sacked already? Or in this context is there a difference between "management team" and "executive management team"?

Color me just a bit confused at the moment.
