Imediate future? Much more benign.
--Localized slow down in the US,
--Substantial slow down in Europe,
--Continuous reduction of US deficit riding icreased US exports
--USD does not substantially fall or rise from current levels,
--Stocks that just muddle through, but don't tank substantially due to the wealth fund effect.

Future few years clear cut:

EUROPE
--Re-nationalization and re-statization of European concers
--Creation of national champions some pan-European
--Expansion of EU to include Adriatic, Mediterranean and Maghreb countries Egypt, Marocco, Lybya, Tunisia and ultimately Russia.

LATAM
Western hemisphere economic block from Snowshoe to Tierra de Fuego

AFRICA
Hotest spot fo growth fuelled by China, Brazil and India.
Old anachronic governments wiped out of the map

MIDDLE EAST
Mullahs regimechanged.
GCC block to encompass Iran aiming at getting the Caucasus on the block
Creation of Palestine state and peace with the Israelis

Commodities and food will go ballistically.

Bludgers on the rampage. First they taxed me when I earned it. Then, in a stroke of genius, they decide to cancel the earnings tax and tax spending. So they get me on the way in, then take it on the way out too. They should be shot!

< In the US the idea of replacing most, if not all, of income taxes with a large consumption tax is gaining ground. It's in the platform of the fastest rising Republican candidate. I am sure even the Democrats will like it, if the elimination of income taxes is confined to the middle and lower incomes only, >

There is no excess consumption in the USA. People can only spend what they have and their expected earnings. That's not excessive consumption. It's a lie that a consumption tax is a "good thing".

Vote for Ron Paul to put an end to such madness.
