I tried them twice as a night light. Not much on and off that wears them out. Neither lasted 6 months although an incandescant will last a year. That was anecdotal on both of our parts but come 2010 I'm buying a life time supply of the old bulbs.

i assume no electric hot water heater, no electric dryer, perhaps smaller refrigerator and maybe no dishwasher. these items draw lots of electricity.. of course frequency has a lot to do with the monthly bill too.
