if you stock up on whey protein and dextrose, water, and multivitamins you can make meal replacement shakes and avoid having to eat cold canned food when the power is out. Of course, human flesh contains the perfect blend of protein and aminos for humans to eat but cleaning some of those bastards in order to eat them will be a chore -g-

If society starts to breaks down, leave it immediately. There is always some Psycho with a bigger gun, more ammo, or better aim. I am very well armed but my plan is to leave and let the rest kill each other, which they will. You could plan out your strategy in great detail and either omit one small detail or somebody negates it all with a lucky shot. I have to leave because my foolish wife opened her big mouth at work. The same people who say you are paranoid when things are fine will come for your supplies when things really go wrong, and they have nothing to lose by doing something drastic. Really not sure if the wife would be coming. She lacks required survival instincts, like keeping her f$#&ing mouth shut regarding what we have and where we are.

Wow, you guys are real pessimists. You must have read Kunstler one too many times.

In WWII the US drastically cut its domestic gasoline and oil consumption, other than that needed for War production. Nobody starved. In fact, people were better off during the war than the precious decade of the Great Depression.

" by eating a person a limb at a time and cauterizing the wounds and keeping the meat alive it will stay fresh without refrigeration."
Thanks for the headsup(down). Is that the strategy the
FED/elites employing to keep the loan slaves alive and well?

>>>Guns and ammo are decent investments at any time, but will be completely indispensable in a new dark age.<<<

Once every year, someone will write a post like yous - with which I will agree.

Once every three years, in a response to a post like yours, I recall Winston Churchill's excellent summary of history from the perspective of the Britons, "A History of the English Speaking Peoples." I think in the first 20 pages - certainly within the first chapter, Churchill points out that in Roman Britain, anybody who was anybody had a hypocaust (think about it...hypo = under...caustic = fire ... aka a furnace in the basement...aka a heated house). After the Romans left, it took until about 1800 for everybody to have a hypocaust again.

So ladies and gentlemen, if it happened once, it can surely happen again.

Oh. Merry Christmas.

As for me, I think I will start saving "Ball Jars." The glass one with the vacuum seal top. Put stuff in there and boil it, then it is good for several years. Better lay in plenty of tops with the rubber seals. They don't last.
