Yeah, but that's assuming that we have the same relative amount of each resource. If we run out of a handful of them in the next decade (fish, potable water, natural gas), we'd have a disaster on our hands.

Also, once we get to "peak" of whatever resources are in question, then we face all sorts of problems due to the competition and harvesting of the last of said resources. Once it's widely acknowledged that each year we can pump a little less oil than the previous year despite demand continuing to increase, what happens then? And who gets screwed?
