Can that be mandated by the feds or do we have to go thru 50 state legislatures? 50 state legislatures. Re: third parties: they can rejigger the main issues but by the nature of things they tend to split the vote in such a way that the party most opposing their wishes gets elected. Not a low cost option. I think Bloomberg is nuts if he thinks anyone outside New York would be interested in him, but what the hey - he would ensure a GOP victory if he ran.
