We really don't stand a chance of creating a real country out that god forsaken place.

State really blew it. They insisted on installing an Government made up of exiles who couldn't walk the streets of Kabul without CIA guards. They had no real tribal support.

Of course, by then, Centcom had also blown it.

Looks like we will have to exit Afghanistan in a year or two. With an unending supply of foreign fighters, who "just have to be lucky from time to time." We really don't stand a chance of creating a real country out that god forsaken place.

We can prevail. Our problem arose with the switch to conventional forces. They all want to kill something.

We need to change from 85% kinetic military operations back to 85% indirect.

We are losing all our gains. If we fail to put the people first, you are right, we will fail.

You would like the book The Starfish and The Spider. It explains the ability of these organizations to replenish and rejuvenate themselves.
