It has been a while since college and it was not a subject, though it may have been a short topic in my books. I received A's in the subject. Four quarters of it I believe. But that was over 30 years ago. I do know there are many branch's, but one of the first things I learned was that heat transfer is not thermodynamics, we then had a short course in heat transfer. I see from googling that it is the application of probability to thermo. I can still not find any reference to heat transfer as a subtopic of thermodynamics.
