The point is the word "conservation" is linked to environmentalism, and the right wingers see red so to speak when they think environmentalism, but they are quite happy to think of "growth", "consumption", etc. So hence the idea that some of the laws should have been renamed somehow to appeal to dimwitted people's ideologies. Right wingers were the first to propose conservation. You are grossly misinformed. We don't dislike conservation at all. However, nobody doesn't like to be forced to conserve beyond that which is necessary.
