I'm glad that you agree that marijuana might help fight cancer .. more than just make it easier for someone with the disease.

Vicoden and aspirin both reduce inflamation and pain.

Since aspirin already existed, should vicoden have been allowed?

Some things work better for some people that others. For the FDA to approve, there is no requirement that a new drug do something unique.

And then what about side effects? Or overdose potential? No one has ever died from consuming to much marijuana. Not one single person.
