The previous cure was Volcker's 20% (or nearly) interest rates. Bernanke will have to go before that happens. The alternative is another halving of the value of the dollar, or worse.

And once inflation at 10% or more seems built in, interest rates will rise anyway since no one will make loans.

Pretty sickening mess--like belonging to a family with a lot of inherited money and no sense about managing it. Now whom does that remind me of?
