Hi EJ

Honest ... didn't know that.

If you have more - please keep them coming.

The part about only putting down 3% kind of blew
me away i.e. I thought (somehow) the commercial side
of life would be more SANE ... more MATURE ....

Again, if you have more examples, please post them ...

who knows ... maybe we could steal a thought from
those guys that shorted the CDO's and find some
commercial side targets to short ...

regards,
John McCarthy

Yes, but the larger point is that the CMBS markets remain frozen - I know of several commercial buyers trying to close deals by year end that are having difficulty doing so. Deals getting retraded, repriced, etc. Refi risk is real right now and doing those short term deals like Centro was like playing Russian roulette with 5 bullets in the chamber....

Commercial Real Estate Transactions Plunge
globaleconomicanalysis.blogspot.com
According to Real Capital Analytics, sales of significant office properties plummeted to $7 billion in November, a 55% drop compared with November 2006. So few deals are getting done that many market experts say they don't know how to put a value on many buildings right now -- but almost everyone is in agreement that the valuations are dropping.
