Read it again.

<<I read a piece today that Goldman is estimating that C alone is going to write off an additonal 18.7B in the fourth quarter<<

It is an additional 7.7B on top of the prior announced 11B.

Yep. I bet we start seeing the real numbers over the next 3-6 mos. They've all been trying to hide and bury the damage until now. But all these companies eventually have to come clean. So it will get worse before it gets better. The trick is to figure out what you want to do with your money while it all pans out. I'll keep buying more into my portfolio every couple weeks with the savings out of my paycheck. While everyone else is panicking and putting their money in bonds that are sinking and a dollar that is weaking, I'll be buying shares on the cheap and will be prepared for the next leg up, whenever it comes.
