Both the earth and the greenhouse are analyzed by looking at the incoming and outgoing radiation by a surface placed at or outside their effective conduction boundary. The internal dynamics don't need to concern you at that point. All you are doing is looking at the net radiation balance. That is what determines the temps. I don't expect you to understand this.

Do you suppose he knows the difference between heat and temperature? Lots of smart people can't seem to keep that straight.
